Meet Your Hosts - Brittany & Ben!

Brittany has been coming to the Smoky Mountains ever since she was a young girl. Her great-grandparents (Mamaw & Papaw) lived in Maryville, just west of Cades Cove, where they would stay weeks at a time. Brittany grew up making rock castles in Abram’s Creek with rocks that she collected in her bucket, with her first ride being a carousel in the center of Pigeon Forge. Mamaw and Papaw’s love and hospitality encouraged her other family members to move to the foothills of the Smoky Mountains.
Brittany’s grandparents, John and Christine, moved to Kingston, TN, when Brittany was just 10 years old – making now two places to visit in the Smokies and make memories. These trips continued into her teenage years with her family and became the one place that was always a second home and safe haven within her large, extensive, family.
In 2014, Brittany wanted to introduce her college sweetheart, Ben, to her coveted “spot” for their first trip together in the Great Smoky Mountains. Two days into their trip, in the midst of telling him about her childhood picnics and sharing the love of the baby bear cubs they’d see, Ben got on one knee and proposed to Brittany in the valley of Cades Cove.
Since their marriage in 2015, Brittany and Ben have taken countless trips in the Smokies every season, staying in cabins in Gatlinburg and Sevierville. After several visits a year, Brittany and Ben wondered – why can’t we make a home here, now?
Brittany and Ben purchased this home on Bobcat Way in hopes to share these experiences and help you create memories to last forever. This home was picked carefully, from the beautiful views – where you can see up to 150 miles on a sunny day- or, on an overcast day, where the smoke of the mountains hang in all of their beauty. From the wraparound porch, the rocking chairs, and the rustic kitchen—all of these combined always catch me reminiscing of Mamaw’s homemade biscuits and gravy as the sun was peeking in.
As you look over Pine Mountain from our porch, with the National Park hanging on your right, I hope you are able to embrace the peace that the Smokies bring. Relax, breathe, and connect with the people who mean most to you -- and take a moment to connect with yourself. Unwind, enjoy, & have the best time here at Mamaw & Papaw's Place!
