Family-Friendly Nature Views & Hikes

Drive to the National Park to observe all of these amazing views and partake in naturistic experiences.

Each of these places can be typed into Google Maps or Waze:

  • Cades Cove Scenic Loop & Picnic Area

  • Roaring Fork Motor Trail

  • Newfound Gap Overlook

  • Clingman’s Dome Observation Tower (also a 1 mile hike to top if you wish!)

  • Cherokee, NC for views, shops, and historical experience

  • Laurel Falls Waterfall and Hike

  • Cataract Falls and Hike

  • Sugarlands Valley Nature Trail

  • The “Sinks” Waterfall and Overlook

  • Greenbriar Picnic Area

  • The Place of a Thousand Drips

  • Morton Overlook

  • Gatlinburg Trail

Day Hikes from 3 – 8 hours total

Moderate to Difficult Hikes with Amazing Views

Make sure you pack adequately for hike with supplies and gear + start on time (between sunrise and 10am)

The hikes listed are all hikes that we’ve done in the Smoky Mountains that can be completed within several hours:
 

  • Abram’s Falls

  • Chimney Tops

  • Alum Cave & Bluffs

  • West Prong Trail

  • Rainbow Falls

  • Mt LeConte (via Alum Cave)

  • Charlie’s Bunion via Appalachian Trail
